Shaping the Future
TECHNOLOGY
PU CORE (Polyester)
Polyester or PU construction uses traditional materials and lamination techniques to produce a strong, reliable surfboard with refined finishes. All polyester boards are CNC milled and hand laminated using quality materials. For years, traditional polyester boards have been at the forefront of surfing. These boards feature a progressive flex pattern controlled by a wooden stringer. The polyester construction works in all surf conditions and can be adapted to all types of surfboard models.
POLY-ECO (Polyester)
Thinking about a better future for our planet, we developed the POLY-ECO construction, which is based on a conventional polyester construction, but where we changed one of the most harmful components for the planet, which is normally known as "blank". In this construction we use a high quality polyurethane blank, but produced from recycled materials and waste from other blanks and wood, which in turn is 100% recyclable. Our objective with POLY-ECO construction is, above all, to reduce the carbon footprint for the planet, but at the same time, to guarantee a quality, resistant and 100% functional product.
BLACK TECH EPS (Epoxy)
BLACK TECH EPS construction produces a controlled flex pattern, combining the versatility of epoxy materials with the added advantage of reduced weight. All BLACK TECH EPS boards have an EPS core CNC milled and hand laminated using BIO epoxy resin, fiberglass and a specialized construction process. This construction is characterized by a high ratio between weight and strength. BLACK TECH EPS boards are light, with excellent response and very sensitive underfoot. These boards are extremely versatile, easy to surf, and can be used in a wide variety of conditions.
CARBON FLEX (Epoxy)
CARBON FLEX construction provides unparalleled performance, taking advantage of the flexibility characteristics of epoxy and the strength of carbon. CARBON FLEX combines a high-density EPS core with Biaxial fibers that guarantee extra resistance, BIO epoxy resin and strategically positioned carbon reinforcements. The positioning of these reinforcements allows tension to be evenly distributed across the entire surface area of the board to produce an active yet controlled flex pattern with remarkable memory properties. CARBON FLEX boards are fast, light and highly responsive in all conditions. Created by Surfactory Portugal to complement a range of surfboard models, this construction has proven to have flexible properties superior to other technologies by up to 20%.
HARDCORK
After the success of Hydroflex, inventor Rouvens “Bufo” returns to revolutionize the surfboard market with a new technology and chose Surfactory as the official manufacturer. (www.bufo-tech.com).
Most surfboards on the market are extremely fragile, which drastically reduces their useful life. Cracking, commonly called "spider cracks" is a well-known problem. Boards lose flexibility and performance after some time due to cracking and delamination. In addition to all this, the vast majority of materials used are not very environmentally friendly.
With the HARDCORK construction, we are able to solve all of these identified problems, while also improving performance and flexibility.
HARDCORK technology keeps your board in shape for years without losing its original properties. In addition to being a more ecological product when using cork, you are contributing to positive side effects that surfing has never seen before. All materials used are state-of-the-art composites and 100% waterproof.
